Hirundo è il termine latino per le rondini. Hirundo è anche il nome del mi primo modello di aliante e .hirundo è il nome di un’installazione di arte generativa.
Hirundo is the latin name of the genus for the swallows. Hirundo is also the name of my first glider model and .hirundo is a generative art installation.
Il concept/The concept
Ogni anno sono sempre affascinato dal volo caotico delle rondini nel cielo e ho sempre cercato di catturare le forme del loro volo. Con .hirundo cerco di convertire questo volo caotico /che non lo è/ e convertirlo in pattern colorati. L’installazione è iniziata il giorno dopo la comparsa della prima rondine in cielo e finirà quando l’ultima se ne sarà andata.
Every year I’m amazed by the chaotic flight of this tiny birds in the sky of my city and I always tried to catch a form in their movements. With .hirundo I would like to convert the chaotic flight into coloured patterns. The installation started the day after I saw the first swallow inthe sky and it will end when the last swallow will flight away.

L’installazione è visibile sul sito https://hirundo.fluido.tv/ dove si possono vedere sia il live streaming che i video generati nei giorni precedenti. Per omaggiare i 700 anni di Dante il volo “analizzato” delle rondini attiva la lettura della Divina Commedia in codice Morse. Su instagram https://www.instagram.com/hirundo_digital_art/ ogni giorno viene pubblicata l’immagine finale generata dal volo e dal 30 giorno anche uno screenshot del cielo delle 8 di mattina.

As a hommage to Dante the flight triggs the Divine Commedy in Morse code. The generated images are published on the Instagram channel https://www.instagram.com/hirundo_digital_art/ with the final generated image and the screenshot of the sky at 8 AM.
